Father’s Day is just around the corner! This is the perfect time to honor the special men in our lives who guide and inspire us. We asked Sunnyside Manor residents about fatherhood: their favorite memories and lessons from their fathers, and for those who are fathers, what they have passed on to the next generations.

“My dad taught me how to be a good person.”

“My dad taught me about how to farm and save money. I always wanted to be able to pass on a good life to my children so they could do the same for their children.”

“My father taught me how to shoot woodcocks, raise birddogs, and put food on the table. As a father, myself, I learned that it can be a lot of fun but also a lot of responsibilities.”

“My father was a wonderful man and a hard worker – he always brought flowers home for my mother. He was quiet, except when he played bingo!”
